force- push or pull
unbalanced forces- forces that cause a change in the motion of an object
Warm Up (Introduction):
Tug of war- 1st we will example balanced forces. 2nd we will example unbalanced forces. 3rd we will example force. (Your tug of war was actually your direct instruction portion of your lesson) - TmbrWlvsTchr Apr 28, 2009
Step by Step procedure or direction:(This part was your guided practice) - TmbrWlvsTchr Apr 28, 2009
1) We will hand out papers
2) Tell then what part to do.
3) Let them start
4) We will walk around making sure they understand and anwsering questions.
Guided Practice:
The work sheet they will be doing.
Assignment:
Have them finish the sheet for Guided practice.
Possible Extensions:
Start your own emperiment-
You coud make up and experiment, you try to have adults against more kids and see how many adults even out to how many kids or visa versa.
Possible Connections to other subjects:
Art- the color wheel. When you have a 1:1 ratio like 1 drop of red and 1 drop of yellow makes orang which would also be a balanced force and not red orange like a 2:1 ratio which would be an unbalenced force becuase it has 2 drops of red and only 1 drop of yellow. (Interesting comparison!) - TmbrWlvsTchr Apr 28, 2009
